Stefanos Spiliotopoulos

Stefanos Spiliotopoulos is very passionate about politics. During his childhood, he and his family moved very often, which is why he is able adapt very easily to different conditions and is always in search of new experiences and adventures.

He studied law in Greece (Thrace) and Germany (Berlin), but never became a lawyer. A scholarship from the German Bundestag (IPS) and an internship offered by a Social Democrat Secretary of State opened doors for him to become a political activist. As a scientific associate of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, he works on various important topics such as social inequality. However, he firmly believes that you have to have experienced inequality yourself in order to fully understand this issue.

He experienced inequality himself as he had to work hard to be able to finance his studies at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and also when he decided to return to his country, Greece, in the middle of the financial crisis. Being politically active is a matter of trying to change things that bother you and not a question of achieving personal ambitions.
