Monica Gavriluta

Monica Gavriluta has over seven years’ experience in diplomacy and currently works as a political adviser on climate policy to the Deputy Head of the United Nations Climate Change in Bonn. She specialises in strategic communications and intergovernmental negotiations on climate.

Prior to working for the United Nations, Monica worked for Romania’s consular mission in Bonn, where she coordinated the presidential and parliamentary elections, co-organised high-level diplomatic events and provided advice on legal and institutional matters to the Romanian community living in Germany.

Monica is passionate about diplomacy, the nexus between climate change, women rights and innovation/digitalisation and believes that technological advance can successfully tackle human inequalities and the climate emergency.

With an MA in public policy from Bucharest and Bonn Universities and a BA in communication and public relations, Monica is an alumna of the International Parliamentary Scholarship programme of the German Bundestag as well as the Training for International Diplomats programme of the Federal Foreign Office.
