Mary Namukose is a Ugandan Water Professional with over nine years of experience as a Technical Advisor in the Water and Environment Sector. She is committed to the sustainable management of Africa’s water resources, particularly shared water systems for peace and prosperity. As a Technical Advisor for the GIZ Program on Transboundary Cooperation in the Nile Basin, Mary coordinates projects on peatland management for climate action, plastic pollution monitoring, and hydro-diplomacy across 10 Nile Basin countries.
Mary is also the co-founder of Women in GIS (WiGIS) Uganda, a professional network aimed at empowering women in Uganda’s geospatial industry by promoting career growth, capacity building, and inclusion in a male-dominated field.
