Driven by an insatiable curiosity and a commitment to both personal and professional growth, Mahmoud Javadi is constantly exploring new avenues of knowledge and experience.
Mahmoud is a doctoral researcher at the Center for Security, Diplomacy, and Strategy (CSDS) at the Brussels School of Governance (BSoG), Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Belgium. His current work is part of the European Research Council-funded project, ‘Competition in the Digital Era: Geopolitics and Technology in the 21st Century’ (CODE). Prior to this, Mahmoud served as an AI governance researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) in the Netherlands as part of the Horizon Europe project ‘Reignite Multilateralism via Technology’ (REMIT). His research background also includes work with the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, where he focused on EU external relations. Mahmoud holds a Master of Arts in Transnational Governance from the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy.
When not immersed in research, Mahmoud finds balance through playing squash and reconnecting with nature on long walks.
Mahmoud is an active member of the GDL Impact Task Team.
