After graduating in international relations from the University of Ljubljana, in 2002 Gorazd Rencelj completed an MA in European studies at the Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland. He also has a Master’s in international public policy from the School of Advanced International Studies of the Johns Hopkins University, Washington, DC.
He joined the Slovenian diplomatic service in 2004 and served as Foreign Policy Advisor to the Prime Minister between 2004 and 2008. His diplomatic posts include London (2008-2012) and Washington, DC (2013-2016). From 2017 to 2019, he was State Secretary at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Slovenia. Since August 2019, Gorazd has served as the Slovenian Ambassador to Brazil.
A father of four, he enjoys reading and sports.
