For Fior, collective policy is the solution. In her free time and as a form of social activism, she co-founded Tec-Check, the first consumer organization in Mexico focused on the digital economy. Tec-Check’s primary activities include facilitating collective complaints to help consumers assert their rights. In 2020, the collective complaints supported by Tec-Check recovered more bonuses for consumers than the consumer protection agency did.
Beyond consumer rights protection, Fior is dedicated to the analysis and implementation of productive development policies and dual education. After serving for three years as a director in Mexico’s Ministry of Economy, Fior founded the consultancy 44 Solutions at the beginning of 2024. Working collaboratively and innovatively with governments and companies, 44 Solutions Consulting aims to implement projects with tangible results that provide public value and generate social impact. Currently, Fior is working on a development banking project with the government of Guatemala.
Fior studied economics and political science. She then earned a master’s degree in public policy from the Hertie School in Berlin. Her thesis analyzed the export of Germany’s dual education model to Mexico. She has been a strong advocate for dual education in the Mexican industry. In 2020, she graduated from the Managing Global Governance Academy, a program run by the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS).
