Chelsey Slack has focused her academic and professional endeavours on advancing international peace and security issues in multilateral fora. She is working at the intersection of geopolitics and technology.
As Deputy Head of the Cyber Defence Section at NATO Headquarters, she supports the negotiations of NATO Allies on cyber defence policy issues. This includes cultivating cooperation with NATO’s partners in other countries, international organisations, as well as across industry and academia. Previously, Chelsey worked at the Canadian Foreign Ministry as part of a Stabilisation and Reconstruction Task Force specialising in conflict prevention.
She earned a Master’s Degree of Philosophy in International Relations from the University of Cambridge. She also studied as a Hansard Scholar at the London School of Economics and at the Institut d’Études Politiques de Lyon in France.
With roots on the west coast of Canada, Chelsey spends a good part of her time discovering other coasts and cultures. She is a regular guest lecturer at universities and research institutes, a contributor to mentoring programs, and is part of the BMW Foundation’s Responsible Leaders Network.
