Dr. Antonio Petrov is a tenured Associate Professor and founder of the think-tank, Urban Future Lab at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is founding-editor of the Harvard publication New Geographies, founder and editor-in-chief of DOMA, served as co-programme director at Archeworks in Chicago, and received his doctorate from Harvard University. His research captures the emergent nature of urban futures while recognising cities as collective social and cultural artefacts.
Not only do his multi-disciplinary background in art, architecture, engineering, urban and cultural studies, his multi-cultural upbringing in Macedonia, Germany, France, Spain, and Turkey, and his value and dialogue based, progressive, and sometimes provocative approach, provide a catalyst for his interest, but between subjective and worldly experiences, environment and culture, his people-centric approach focuses on reimagining local currencies while giving new meaning to the global.
