Hasini Haputhanthri is an expert in peacebuilding, arts, and heritage management, actively participating in global networks such as the Reimagine Peacebuilding Community, Networks 4 Peace, and the Alliance for Historical Dialogue and Accountability. With initial training in sociology from Delhi University and Lund University, Hasini later specialized in Oral History and Museum Anthropology at Columbia University.
With over 20 years of experience in peacebuilding, she has collaborated with various international and local organizations, including Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), and now works as an independent consultant. Hasini has partnered with institutions like University College London, the Geneva Graduate Institute, and the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
Her publications include Cultural Fluency: A Transformative Agenda for Caring Communities, Museums, Memory and Identity Politics in Sri Lanka, and Shared Encounters in Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and Thailand. Currently, she focuses on reinventing global peacebuilding architecture and frequently speaks on peace education, social inclusion, and culture and heritage management at international forums.
