Islam Abdel Jabar is a young passionate lawyer and human rights defender from Palestine. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in law from Birzeit University, Palestine.
In 2020, he obtained his Master’s degree in International Studies from the same university. From 2015 to 2018, Islam worked as a practising lawyer and human rights defender in his home country.
Since 2018, Islam has been working as a team assistant (project associate) for the German political foundation Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung in East Jerusalem.
Islam has a great interest in many political and development-related topics such as cross-border cooperation, water diplomacy, social democracy and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Islam has participated in numerous training courses, internships and seminars on the aforementioned topics both in Palestine and abroad.
Islam is fluent in Arabic, English and German.
