Rike Sohn is the Deputy Head of Bilateral Cooperation at the German Embassy in Tunis, focusing on integrated water management and renewable energies, as well as mitigation, adaptation and migration policies.
She has been working in development cooperation in and with Africa for over 10 years, including positions in research, project implementation and, policy coordination, as well as public relations and advocacy for local governments and civil society. She is fluent in German, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese and has started to learn Arabic.
She has an MA in international political economy and development from Fordham University, NYC, USA, and is studying for a second one in environmental studies (M.S.).
Outside work, she loves to escape into nature as she is also a passionate hiker, a long-term yoga apprentice and a low-wave stand-up paddler with an interest in African dancing.
