Julia Kloiber is an activist who is passionate about growing open communities. She is the Co-Founder of Superr Lab, a community that develops visions and projects to generate futures that are more equitable.
Julia worked as a project lead for the Open Knowledge Foundation Germany and as a consultant for The Engine Room. She has been running multiple community projects that foster the reuse of open data. She initiated Code for Germany in collaboration with Code for America, who is a tech community implementing a sustainable digital transformations in politics and administration with 34 labs, more than 500 members and 256 projects across Germany. Moreover, she kicked off a Prototype Fund, for civic tech projects in collaboration with Germany’s Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
Julia leads open data projects in close collaboration with companies and governments alike. In 2014, she co-organised the international Code for All Summit in New York, a two-day conference that brought together leading experts and practitioners in civic tech.
Among others, she is on the advisory board of the German Digital Service and since April 2018 a Fellow at the Mozilla Foundation.
